Crisis and safety information

This page explains the limits of the current public website. It is not an emergency service, a trip safety plan or a substitute for travel insurance.

1. Before a trip is agreed

The current Atlas51 website accepts enquiries and trip applications. It does not create a booking or confirm that a trip will operate.

If Atlas51 makes a written offer for a trip, the specific safety, joining and emergency-contact arrangements will be confirmed in writing before travel. We will not name or imply an emergency-assistance provider until that arrangement is actually in place for the trip concerned.

2. On-ground safety decisions

An agreed trip may be delivered on the ground by an independent operator. The qualified on-ground team will make immediate safety decisions about route changes, activities and whether to stop or alter an activity when conditions require it.

Travel in remote environments carries risks that cannot be removed by a website or a general protocol. You should consider your own experience, fitness, insurance and the specific written trip information before deciding whether to proceed.

3. Insurance and emergencies

Before any travel, the written trip information will state the insurance and emergency-assistance requirements that apply to that trip. Do not assume that a particular type of insurance, evacuation support or 24-hour contact is included unless it is confirmed to you in writing.

In an immediate emergency, contact the relevant local emergency services or your insurer's emergency-assistance line. If you are already travelling on an agreed trip, follow the contact and escalation instructions provided for that trip.
